1,60,000 Reasons to Smile!
India has witnessed an unprecedented second wave of COVID-19 that has brought the Indian healthcare system to its knees, with the shortage of oxygen cylinders and concentrators proving to be a nightmare of unfathomable magnitude. The pandemic has claimed over 200,000 lives since the beginning, and the current active caseloads are over 3.5 Million. An estimated 700,000 people are currently in dire need of hospitalization with oxygen, including ICUs.
Sankalp is a student-driven organization at Iowa State University that supports grassroots development in India. To do our bit, we have joined hands with ‘Mission Oxygen’ to raise funds towards enhancing the oxygen arsenal at Indian hospitals against this deadly virus.
‘Mission Oxygen’ is a charitable initiative that started as a self-funded mission to help hospitals across India. Over the last few weeks, Mission Oxygen has raised over ₹35 crores and procured 4000+ oxygen concentrators to deliver across 138 hospitals. But this is just the beginning; with the pandemic now impacting more states than ever, Mission oxygen is looking to expand its reach to help hospitals across India.
Our efforts will continue, Kindly follow in social media for more updates
