Get Involved
Sankalp is a fully volunteer-driven and student administered organization.Any support you can provide makes a big difference to our projects. There are a number of ways you can start getting involved.

- Join Sankalp-patrons: Sankalp-patrons is a mailing list designed to keep patrons informed about Sankalp’s meeting and activities. Send us a mail to be added on to sankalp-patrons.

- Attend our meetings: Our meetings are held online with committee members, if you would like to attend please send us email (sankalp.iastate@gmail.com)

- For active volunteers: Sankalp maintains a separate mailing list for members to participate in active discussions. If you would like to actively participate in Sankalp activities, then join in. Send us a mail to be added on to sankalp.projects@gmail.com mailing list.

- Make a periodic monetary contribution: Checks can be made out to Sankalp and mailed to us. Sankalp uses all your money directly for projects in India. All our overheads are met by GSB funding and volunteer contributions.

- Help us in soliciting projects from deserving NGOs in India: If you personally, or through some contacts, are aware of NGOs doing good work in remote parts on India, bring them to our attention. We like to reach out to NGOs that are in the process of establishing themselves, NGOs that work in remote rural locations, and NGOs that are grassroot organizations. Please see our criteria list for additional project evaluation guidelines.

- Help us monitor projects: If you are visiting India, and can volunteer your time to visit project sites close-by please let us know. We will reimburse you for your visit to the project site. Site visits are extremely crucial for in our monitoring of projects.

- Handicrafts: If you would like to purchase handicrafts for Sankalp that will be sold at local festivals, please contact us. This is another revenue source for Sankalp.
- Daawat: Daawat is an annual fund-raising dinner hosted by Sankalp. This much anticipated feast ( as the name suggests) comprises of authentic home-cooked Indian delicacies. The entire Indian Ames community comes together to organize this event. Along with the mouth-watering food, there are various cultural performances put together by students.
